My last tour of dayshift

Fairly low key.  Worked the school zone...got 8 tickets, pretty good.

The neurotic lady who was only giving me about 1 percent of the truth:  Have you ever met someone who can't make a decision.  Someone so negative pesimistic that nothing satisfies them?  You know...the guy or gal that is in a luxury supermarket and says that they are starving but nothing sounds good....then they finally decide on something and you know its damn delicious but all they can do is complain about it?  That was this lady.  I swear I was about ready to go off.  Met her at the station and I'll boil a 45 minute conversation down into a few sentences.

Love Triangle....she is new girlfriend of dude.  Dude's ex-girlfriend sending her and dude semi-threatening (not using specific language needed for harrasment laws) text messages.  Doesn't want to file a report but wants some kind of record that she talked to us "in case something happens".  OH brother....I gave her several different options on how to resolve the matter and none of them were good enough for her...apparently she wanted some miracle spell that I could cast or something...

."Mam I could take a report but its probably not gonna go anywhere cause there really hasn't been a crime that has occured......how about getting an anti-harrasment order from the court (this would have been the best option).......or HOW BOUT THIS LADY GET A NEW FRICKEN CELL PHONE NUMBER, GROW UP, AND GET OVER YOURSELF.  And all the time you know she is feeding me half truths...I'm sure that I could talk to the other gal and get just as much dirt on my "victim".  Thankfully the radio squaked up about a fight and i was like .....sorry gotta go.  Somehow that didn't compoute with her...somehow me saying I have to go there is a fight going on right now...and my partner driving by me saying "HEY DUDE YOU BETTER COME TO THIS TO IT COULD BE BAD" wouldn't compoute.  It was like trying to get off the phone with that person that we all know that wont shut up and let you go?  Finally I juts said "mam i have to cut you off and i have to go".

So the fight that I had to go to after dealing with crazy lady.  Really it was just a dispute....anyway it was one of those calls where you know just from the description of the call, location where its at, and nature of the call you know its gonna be so-and-so your regular customer that you have dealt the 1000 times in the past.  Its a local guy that is homeless and you never know what you are gonna get with him crazy drunk soandso or sober very cooperative soandso.  Long story short we just went there and he started to behave.

Mental:  Got a call from a different crazy guy.  One that I've dealt with before.  He is a great guy when he is taking his meds but every time he is off them he turns super nuts.  This time (and I'm not making this up) there was a secret federal government task force that was tracking his location with laser technology.  This guy also has the mike tyson style tatoos on his face.  So he got a nice trip to the hospital psych ward.

The thing that drives me nuts the most is Myrsa bacteria and needles.  This guy had myrsa that I didn't know about.....lets just say i used about a gallon of the hand sanitizer.

Awesome

Awesome Awesome Awesome Video! God Bless Paul Harvey.  Sums it up!  Please enjoy this.

Man with a gun

Started out the morning with a message on my phone asking if I could come in at 3am.  Whoops phone was off.  Felt really bad cause the most senior guy ended up coming in.  Hopefully that doesn't happen again.  I got there as soon as I could but it was at about 5am....better than nothing I suppose.

Went to coffee with the guys.  Got one sip in before getting called to back a neighboring city on a domestic call.  Trouble finding the place...its hard when its not your city and it was tucked down this long driveway.  In a nutshell....dad comes home from the graveyard shift, finds mom and 23 year old daughter had been up drinking all night.  He's had enough..they started arguing and then mom got pretty confrontational with him so he called the cops.  Daughter and mother are nowhere to be found when we get there....find the mom hiding in a bathroom, she was blitzed drunk and pretty hard to deal with...major drama.  Daughter had taken off in and went running through the neighborhood...tried looking for her with negative results.

Traffic stop....had a few stops today but didn't have much time to really dig and find anything good...ran some radar.  Got a gal going 52 in a 35 pulled behind her and turned on my lights.....she drives about 4 blocks and doesn't pull over...I hit the 150 decibel siren 2 feet from her bumper....still doesn't pull over.......finally looks up and stops right in the center lane.  hello!!! did you take the driver's exam?!  she finally figured it out and pulled to the right.  It was a very old asian lady with a huge language barrier...she just kept smiling at me and saying yes repeatedly.  Her younger adult daughter who spoke a little better english attempted to translate.  I told her some basic concepts on what should be done with you have a large police car with bright flashing lights right behind you and when you see me frantically pointing at you and gesturing to pull over in the rearview mirror.....that might be a clue as to what to do.  She pondered it for a moment and then told me that she thinks it is an old person thing....that when the police are behind you, you assume that they want to just go the same way they're going.  Anyway....its one of those occasions as Lewis Black so nicely puts it.......its when you hear something and your left brain says to your right brain "its dark in hear and we may die".  I gave her a warning...sometimes in the grand scheme of things its just easier that way and I don't like to ticket old people...they've suffered enough.

Reports.....lots of reports today I wish I could remember them all but I'll highlight a few.

Burglary......old guy calls, he's missing his stereo tuner, speakers, cd player etc from his living room...no forced entry.. daughter had apparently taken the stuff or so he expected...she's had a long history of drug abuse and stealing from dad.  She is homeless, dad let her stay there for a little bit...he gets tired of her lies and drug use and gives her the boot and repays him by jacking his stuff.......pretty mean huh?  Gets better...the guy is a world war 2 vet and his wife of like 50 years had just passed away 2 weeks prior and he just got stuck with a 135,000 dollar medical bill....gee thanks.  I can't even imagine the pain and heartache that guy must be enduring and to have some low life drug addict piece of @#$%^% daughter treat you like that.  And to boot....he couldn't write me a statement on account of him recently starting to go blind.  Poor guy man.  Sux.  The guy had to buy this hard to read metal safe to stash his medicine in so this daughter would stop taking his meds...unreal man!  So anyway I took off after getting everything I need and started typing out the report in my car....he called later after realizing that she jacked his beloved wife's jewelry as well.  What a nice daughter huh? argh

Up on blocks: Go to about the 4th car prowl at the same location the past 4 or 5 nights....guys keep hi-centering cars on blocks and stealing all the wheels...kinda funny to see a car on full tilt just high-centered on a piece of concrete with no wheels underneath.

Craigslist scam.....lady finds home for rent on craigslist, emails the renter...gets a response back from some legit looking site (looked real she showed it to me), looked like a house rental management company that represented the property......so she clicks on the link and starts filling out the "rental application".  This part she showed me and I can't believe she was dumb enough to fill this out....it was asking for her full name, social security number, date of birth, what car she drives...the license plate number on her car , credit card information etc etc....she put it all in there and submitted it...luckily she paid with pay-pal for 24 bucks.......after paying (why would you not wait to pay before getting suspicious) checks craigslist again and finds another add for the same home.....this one has a phone number...calls the real owner of the house and he says that he doesn't use that company or have anything to do with it and had received 2 or 3 complaints about the same thing from other people......bummer.

Man with a Gun:  Get a man with a gun call. " man walking down the street with a rifle in his hands".  Go flyin over there and check the whole area and cant find him.....the caller says that he walked into a house and described where the house was at.  So we park our cars a long ways away "you have a Ar-15?....nope its at the station.....you have an Ar-15?  nope...nope........nope...great all we have is our stupid pistols....bringing a pistol to a rifle fight is like bringing a water gun to a knife fight.  We at least had our shotguns...so one guy grabbed one....I asked if we had a shield and sure enough we had one....pretty sweet.  Downside is new guy gets to lug it and conduct operation "get behind the expendable rookie meat shield".  The house was horrible...all kinds of places the guy could just pick us off from as we approached the house.....so we stack up behind me...I have to carry the shield which means both my hands are tied up and if he starts shooting I'm hosed...especially since it was our lower level shield rated only for pistol rounds...better than nothing I suppose.  So we choose the best of all crappy options as far as approach........then its like the three stooges trying to coordinate walking and stopping and looking and talking to one another "moving....copy moving...yeah moving...rodger that moving" "window on the right...window on the right...copy window on the right.....stopping, stopping ok, yeah copy stopping....moving again..ok moving...turning right, turning right, copy turning right".  This is all done at .07 miles an hour.  Get to the front of the house......I got a shield in both hands and the other guys have guns drawn.....who knocks?  Tried calling inside the house by phone with no luck.....so picture this...3 heavily armed swat looking guys and the lead guy has a giant ballistic shield with bright lights on it and POLICE in bold lettering standing at the front door " knock knock knock"  guy answers the door to talk to a big shield "hi police here....can I interest you in donating to the police department fallen officers guild fundraiser bowling night.....ok it didn't go like that but I felt just as ridiculous.....we did the whole come out with your hands up thing get on the ground etc etc etc.

...............it was a BB-gun.

Reports

Today was filled with alot of paperwork.  Its a big part of the job and when it rains it pours.

Domestic:  Had a domestic assault right out the bat.  A gal had called and said that she had been assaulted...parties seperated when the call came in.  My partner contacted the female half.  She had been knee'd in the abdomen and she tried to leave he grabbed her and prevented her from leaving.  He put his hand on her mouth and neck, then took off.  I waited with the sarge at the guys apartment a ways away.  He wouldn't come to the door. We thought he was hiding in there so we waited and were about to get the key from an apartment manager when we got ahold of him on the phone.  He wasnt there but ended up walking into the hallway where we were at....we hooked him up immediately.  There was some debate on what to charge him with...usually that is just a simple assault but since he prevented her from leaving we were able to charge him with unlawful imprisonment.  Good work on my partners half for looking up the crime definitions and elements cause that one is a felony vs a simple misdemeanor.

Burglary report: Went to the house...Mom and son there.  Son noticed money missing from his dresser door and mom realized that her ring was gone along with some coins.  No forced entry ...an inside job?  They suspected the upstairs neighbor who had a key to their house.  Upstairs neighbor son recently started living with them...he had a history (according to them) of heavy drug use and tranciency.  Had them complete statements, talked to the kid upstairs...denied any involvement...had him fill out a statement etc.  Slew of paperwork along with it all.

Pharmacy forgery: Gal comes into a local pharmacy.  Gives clerk a prescription for 120 oxicontin which is suspicious in and of itself.  Oxycontin goes for bout 100 bucks a pop when dealers cell it.  Gal claims to be filling her mom's prescription.  Clerk asks her to sign the narcotics log.  Girl hesitates when signing it.  Clerk suspicious asks for manager.  Manager asks girl for ID.  Girl says she doesnt have any and demands refund of co-pay back.  Manager questions her.  Girl bolts out front to gettaway car.  Clerk gets the out-of-state lic plate number......could have made it a simple report but decided to do some digging into to prevent report getting kicked back.  Ran plate returns to rental car place.  Called rental car place...after hours no luck.  Called insurance company as presented on card by girl.  Verifies as real customer with account.  Call doctor listed on prescription.....doctor did not write script and say they dont use those RX pads anymore.  Call phone number listed under the patient....suspect that its the actual girls number and she listed it on accident on the narcotics log.  Ringtone was not of old lady but some rap song...young girl answers (pretty sure it was the suspect although I dont know why you would list your real phone number unless she had put it down so pharmacy could call her after she places fraudulent pill orders..........young girl answers.  Is so and so there I say (giving the name of her fake mom...the patients name) Who is calling she says?  The police.......click.  Lots of paperwork associated with this.

Stolen car: Stolen car dumped right by the police station.  Easy.  Run car...verify its stolen, verify both plates are on it (car thieves often switch plates or remove them), verify that its driveable and inventory car such as cd players, tapes, if ignition is damaged etc etc.  Dispatch calls owner, owner comes to pick up car......verify that its been cleared from system so that owner doesnt drive down the road and its still listed as stolen and unknowning cop pulls her over and out of the car at gunpoint.  Its cleared she takes off and is very thankful.  Crap forgot to have her sign for the car...call her back, she returns and signs the forms and quickly tells me that she thinks she might have just parked the car there originally and forgot about it....yeah she was that goofy.

Death Investigation:  Expected death. very old gal passed away.  Requires a whole bunch of information that is hard to ask of a next-of-kin while they are dealing with their loss.....the medical examiner needs such things like a list of medications, primary doctor information, funeral home choice etc etc.  Required to get an NJA number which stands for No Jurisdiction Assigned...no idea why its called that or why that number is so important but its the one thing I have to have before the funeral home can pick up the body.......body inspection done by me...nothing suspicious or out of the ordinary...difficult to do a proper job with 30 family members there.  Was minimally invasive wish I would have done some more checking of some things but nothing was obvious and given the fact that she had a DNR (do not revive) form I didn't pry too much.  This was at 1720 hours.....lots of paperwork associated with that.

Inbetween these had several non-paper calls such as alarms, noise complaints etc.  Made a few traffic stops and wrote a couple speeding tickets....one lady pulled over into a car dealership which was her destination and asked if she could go inside while being pulled over to tell them she would be late......I said no.  Another lady barely spoke english...caught her doing 20 over the posted speed limit and she refused to believe she was driving that fast...I showed her my LIDAR lazer speed gun and the flashingt 50mph.  She kind of shut up after that.  She did not expect a ticket and exclaimed "you've seen my driving record right...no tickets?"  I said yes but you were speeding and that doesnt negate the fact that you should use your brake when driving that fast.

Tired....rinse repeat tomorrow.

Been a while

Hey guys.  Been a little bit since my last post....sorry about that.  I'm thinking I need a small laptop or netbook.  Sometimes sharing a computer can be tough with the wife.  We are both very busy these days and it seems that one computer is sometimes not enough.  Anyway...its been pretty uneventful the past week.  I haven't had anything really too exciting to talk about.

Today was interesting.  I got a supoena for a DOL hearing for a DUI I did back in February.  The interesting thing about the justice system is how slow it goes.  The supoena was over the phone and was scheduled for 11am today.  I was a bit nervous about it.  I had printed off the report because I didn't even remember the case.  Well I got a call from a DOL officer and she confrenced me in with the defendant's attorney.  Let the fun begin.  Keep in mind I did this DUI stop like 2 months ago.  This is why writing a good report is so important.  They always say to write reports for the future not the present.  This is mostly because you will never remember these small details that the defense claims is so important.

So I'm talking with the guy and of course he makes me look like a total idiot.  He picks all the minute details (that really have nothing to do with the case) that I didn't include in the report and asks me everything about them.  I said "I don't recall" probably 100 times today.  I hate defense attorneys.  He spent 10 minutes having me describe the BAC datamaster room (the place where you give the official breath test).  I'll give you just a brief idea of how these lawyers work.  When you get your license you sign something called an implied consent for DUI.  Basically this means that you have the right to refuse to blow into the machine but by doing so you forfit your license for a year.  Well when you are in the room with the guy you have to "observe them" for 15 minutes before beginning the test.  This is called the observation period.
Well the lawyer today was asking me about that time period.  I told him that I had observed the driver the entire time (which is required by law).  Well then he asked me if after reading him his rights (for the second time also required by law) if he asked for a lawyer.  I said yes.  Did you provide him with an opportunity to call a lawyer......yes I did.  How did you do this.  I called a defense attorney (several available at 2am and there is a list you call from in the room).  I gave him my work cell phone to talk to the driver.  Like any good lawyer he told the guy to refuse to answer any questions and just blow into the machine.

Well on the phone today the lawyer started harping on the fact that while I gave him an observation (as required) I didn't allow a private room for his client to talk to his attorney.  How am I supposed to do that if I have to observe them at all times for that 15 minute observation period? Loopholes......on and on it went.  He asked me to recite some of the field sobriety test instructions over the phone VERBATIM he kept stressing.  Well there is no way I was gonna fall for that so I kept stressing that I give the same instructions every time but I'm not sure if the EXACT wording is the same.  Seriously lame.

Anyway......I could go on and on but its just dumb.  Its no wonder why alot of guys dont like doing DUI's.  This state is ridiculous in their defense attorney loopholes.  Its like you want to scream to them....well hope its not you that your client plows into after drinking all night.

On my Friday I worked some speed enforcement at a school zone.  I had no idea that the penalties were so stiff for school zones and they are uncontestable.  You have to pay no matter what.  I had never worked one of those before so me and my partner tore it up.  We wrote like 15 tickets in 45 mintues.  We were nice though and only wrote the people for doing 5 over but most of the people were doing at least 12 or 14 over...the penalty on that is almost 500 bucks...yowser!  It was pretty fun but man my partner (who is a traffic guy by trade) could scratch out about 3 tickets for every one of mine.

I had one stop on a gal who had the most interesting middle name.  There is no way it was not made up or changed on purpose to it....unfortunately I don't name names on here and I so wish that I could because it was sooooo funny.

Had a few Code runs (lights and sirens) last week that were really fun.  I'm getting alot more comfortable with them and it feels alot more natural, I'm not as stressed out about them now so you are able to drive better when that happens.  The best part is most of them did not involve any paperwork after so thats good.  NO paper no problem.

Well I'm running into that same problem because the wife just got home and she needs the computer so I'm gonna have to cut this one short.  More later guys.  Hopefully when I get back on nights in another couple weeks I'll have some better stuff.

Another Week Down

Again please ignore spelling and grammar.....this is not a reflection of how I write.  I consider this more like keeping a journal and this is all juts free thought flowing....so  again I'm sorry for all the typo's etc....I really just dont have the time to sit here and proofread everything...that being said................

I have to say this week felt pretty good.  Again I wish I could remember everything that happened.  Sometimes it all just runs together and I don't have time to post everynight.  For that, I'm truely sorry.  Family....the dept really does feel like a family.  Thats all I've ever wanted at any job I've ever had.  I felt that way up when I was dispatching as well.  Its nice to feel that way again.  I'm still the rook and the FNG but for the most part my dept has an awesome attitude.  They completely treat me with respect.  I gotta say that it just feels darn good.

It was my last week with this particular supervisor.  I've been on his crew for about a month now.  I told him at the end of shift that I really appreciated workin with him and that I had felt like I'd learned alot over the past few weeks.  He told me thanks for all the hard work and enthusiasm.  That made me feel very good.  Its just a few simple words but those things really matter to me, more than money or vacation time or anything else.  Just knowin that you are appreciated for the work that you do.

I've never really had a job where I look forward to coming to work.  I think that is a major accomplishment.  Sometimes I think to myself "dang I'd be happy making 10 bucks an hour to do this".  Are there times when I'm 2 or 3 hours into working on the same darn thing etc etc and I think that this job isn't all that it's cracked up to? Sure....or when you get pissed on (like for reals pissed on?)  absolutely.  But for the most part, I love it.  It was my friday today and the night crew came on, I was gettin ready to leave and they asked if I wanted to stay for dinner.  That....along with the Sgt's words just a little bit before that just made me feel good...accepted.  There is a really strong brotherhood shared as cops.  Its hard to get in that circle of trust but when your there.....there is nothing like it.  The bottom line is knowing that your brother in blue (or sister...no I'm not sexist ladies) has your back if your getting killed.

There is alot of freedom in this job.  That's what I like the most about it.  Being able to get in your car and get all the gadgets working like your computer, shotgun, lightbar, radio and then hitting the road.  Sky is the limit.....you want to go try and find dirtbags at bad hotels?  Have at it......how bout some traffic enforcement?  Knock yourself out.  Granted that falls hand in hand with the opposite side of the coin......when you want to do that stuff but get stuck with silly report calls all day.

Like today....I got dispatched out to a threats report.  I get there and the lady talks my ear off.  After about 20 minutes listening to her babble you want to scream at the top of your lungs LADY I DONT CARE WHAT HAPPENED 2 YEARS AGO, WHY DID YOU CALL THE POLICE TODAY?  WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW?

You would have thought she was pitching me a new idea for a novel she was authoring.  I got there and I asked what had happened and how could I help her.  And we're off........she apparently was some sort of care taker/very good friend/possibly a girlfriend? ..of a very old man.  He had gotten her a few credit cards in her name so she could take care of his affairs and pay bills...that sort of thing.  Well he passed away........the guys actual family goes nuts.  Wanting the credit cards back etc etc etc.  You could imagine how long this story went on for explaining 14 years of drama and history etc etc etc.

Halfway through she starts to cry so bad that I can't hardly understand her......then her phone rings (this is about after 25 minutes of listening to her and trying to direct her to keep on task telling me what is going on..directed questioning etc)...so sure she called the police and they came all the way out there (me) and patiently listened with a smile on my face...sure.....sure....oh yeah sure GREAT TIME TO ANSWER THE PHONE LADY.  She said "o this is my lawyer I have to take this".  Sure why not......they start talking there...she starts getting more animated and excited and more crying happens and after about 5 minutes of me staring at her like what the F lady......and me conspicuously/obviously looking at my watch in front of her......I politely ask "mam do you think you could talk to me and give him a call back?"  Well that made her happy and all of a sudden she tells the lawyer that "well the police are here and now they don't want to do anything about it".  WHAT?!  Hello!!! I'm right here totally trying to help you........so I finally had to use my big-boy voice cause I was really tired of Fu@k'n around with this lady.............I said let me talk to the lawyer.  "Hi this is Officer so-n-so with the blankity blank police department do you think you could give her a call back later in the day so I can help this lady out?  "why yes" he replied...."in fact I told her that she didn't need to talk to me right now while I was just on the phone".  @#$%^&(*&^%$#@$%^&*&^%$#!!!!!!!!

**Click**

Ok mam...as you were saying? blah blah blah...."ok mam, what happened today to make you decide that you were threatened and needed to call the police" well so and so called....who is so and so I asked.......oh thats so and so's sister who was the former roomates uncles daughter's mother-in-laws- ex babysitters neighbor etc etc etc.  Oh and who is so and so??  Oh He's the doctor of the so and so who did the whatever..............................blah blah blah and on it went.

You get the point and you can see how difficult it is...thats not even the half of it.  It was so convoluted etc.  People always think that cops are rude but I think if people understood that the above paragraph is what we have to deal with all the time when talking to people they would understand why we are very short and to the point and ask simple questions and have to lead people to the answers we need or information we need.  And all the time that you are trying to listen to them ramble about things that have no relavence to the reason that they called, you are thinking in your head......"what kind of crime do I have?  Is there a crime here?  What are the elements needed for that crime to occur, what kind of intent did they have to show...what evidence do I have..?  is this just a civil matter or a criminal matter, what am I gonna need for this report...what information.....what kind of report will I label this as etc etc.

Anyway....long story short (yeah wish I had that magic wand that could make the long story short out in the field).  It boiled down to this.....she got a call from the daughter of the man that she caretaked for.  She wanted the credit cards back (that had been issued to her) because he was deceased now and no longer needed to be taken care of.  She then threatened the gal I was talking to by saying "I'm gonna mess up your car".  Do we have a threat right there? Yes......out of that entire mess of talking to this gal that one sentence was what I needed and nothing else mattered......that is why she had called the cops...really wish she would have just said....."yeah I called you today because someone I know threatened to damage my car".  But even then...nothing specific was mentioned.....not I'm gonna blow up your car...I'm going to slash your tires...I'm going to fill your car up with cheese whizz etc etc.....

Got the "suspects" name and found her in the computer and she lived nearby.  Went over to the "suspects" house and talked to her.  She was completely calm...completely sane...very easy to talk to.....I got no impression at all that she was being dishonest with me.  She admitted to calling her but made no threats toward her at all.  Denied making any threats at all to the lady or her car.  Now....you get the feel for people after a while if they are lying or giving you half truths...I didn't get that at all from this "suspect".   So now what do you do.......technically I had enough to arrest her on the spot....in this state Harrassment (which includes threats....there is no law concerning threats...its under harrassment instead) is a misdemeanor presence exception meaning that an Ofc doesnt have to witness that category of crime in order to make an arrest......basically as long as you have a victim who said they received a threat like that then you can arrest them without having witnesses etc.........I knew that this person had called my 'victim" cause I saw her number on her phone.  In my gut though I felt that my "victim" had made it up after talking to the other person (the suspect).  So what did I do?  Got a statement from both of them and wrote it as an informational report.  STUPID ISN'T IT?

Anyway folks....I just realized that this is probably boring many of you to pieces so I'm gonna cut it off there for the night.....more later.

Monday on a Monday

Didn't get a whole lotta sleep last night.  I don't know what it is but for some reason dayshift just stresses me out.  I get to bed early but then I keep thinking about how early 4am is and then I start stressing out....."ok if I fall asleep now I can get 7 hours.....ok if I just can fall asleep I can get 6 hours....OH crap 4am is comin up...ok I can live off 4 hours no problem...etc etc.  Hate it.

Some traffic enforcement.  I always forget that we have a LIDAR...similar to a radar gun but it shoots a laser.  You have a much better range.  There are some disadvantages but generally I like it much better.  It just in a special part of the station and I seem to forget its there.  I'm gonna try and use it more often.  I caught a few speeders but didn't write hardly any tickets.  I got one guy going something like 43 in a 25.  It was an old timer.  I walked up to the car and told him how fast he was going and he said "no way I was going that fast".  He proceeded to buck and snort throwing his hands up in an animated fashion with catch phrases like "well fine just write me a ticket then".  I didn't write him.  I don't like doing what people expect.  He seemed shocked and suddenly very thankful.

I switched spots cause I had the cool laser and went to a different part of the city.  I got a gal goin like 48 in a 35.  I asked her why she was goin so fast and she told me she was uh kinda like uh havin fun going down the hill.  Those things are great to put in the narrative for obvious reasons.  She didn't have her license on her...kind of a sign that something might be up but it was a newer car and I anticipated everything checking out.  She told me her name and info and (enter song jingle sound from prices right when they loose the game buh buh..buh buhhhhhh) her license was suspended.  Quite the driving record as well.  It was a good arrest...I was stoked.

CPS call.  CPS was concerned over a kid that got a scratch on his neck.  Called cps, met him down at the school.  Had him interview the kid.  Really cool to watch those guys work.  We received a little special training in the academy on how to talk to kids.....(you know bend down so you are on their level and treat them like a friend and not be a big mean cop).  This cps guy was great though, for obvious reasons he's probably had some really good training.  He went through a series of questions and exercises to put the child at ease and establish if the child knows the difference between telling the truth and what is a lie.  The kind of thing that you know how to do but watching someone who does it for a living is like a true art form.  I was very impressed.

Anyway...I'll spare you all the details but you can see how labor intensive it can get.  Talk to cps, talk to the kid, talk to the teachers...get statements...go to the daycare, talk to the employees, get statements, make photocopies of their documentation, talk to mom etc etc etc.  Anyway long story short the kid had kind of been acting up and they put him in time out on a couch and had to hold him there, he kept trying to spazz out and throw a fit and get up so they just held on to his shirt collar.....his thrashing about caused the scratch.  It was hardly noticeable.  Lots of work for just a scratch.

Collision...it was rainy toward the end of shift...this being preceded by dry weather spells slick roads and people being retarded.  2 cars going opposite eachother, one car trying to turn left on a green light (has to yield to oncoming traffic of course) thought he could make it...he thought wrong...got hit head on by oncoming traffic.  He didn't have a good license or insurance...shocker.  He got a big ticket.....a real big ticket.

Hit and run report.  Why people don't call for the cops when things immediately happen I will not understand.  A granny was backing up...hit the gas when trying to hit the brake......the building stopped her but she didn't realize she had hit the wall.....yeah right.  I'll spare the details but thats the basics of it.

That was about it...took me to the end of my shift.  I have alot of paper waiting for me to finish it all up at the station in the morning.  I used to get stressed out and scramble to get it done before shift is over but its impossible on dayshift....it just keeps coming.

Came home....ran, ate a great dinner (thanks wifey) and now i'm off to bed.  Rinse and repeat.

I can't get out of the station

The title pretty much says it all.  This week seemed to be super busy.  I try and be proactive but I'm finding that on dayshift the schedule is a bummer.  Its super slow in the morning with maybe one or two calls but right around 4pm you start getting alot of calls and reports.  There is nothing like getting dispatched to a burglary report 30 minutes before you are supposed to go home.

I don't know what the deal was this week but it was hard for me to get things finished.  It just seemed like I would sit down at the computer and then 2 hours has already gone by.  I would keep getting interupted with this or that.  It was really frustrating.

The Nintendo DS caper:

It's strange...you have all this gear on, a rifle, shotgun, and batbelt with all these high speed toys.  You have a strong shiny patrol car and car computer for looking up things and investigating and fighting crime....but lots of your time goes to cases that probably won't go anywhere.  I went to a simple theft call about a week ago.  A young gal had her xboyfriend come over and he left after stealing her nintendo ds.  Simple report....or so I thought.  I typed it up and that was it.  I tried contacting the suspect but he wasn't home so I just left it at that.  It got turned back to me on my monday with many suggestions "try this.....or try that...did you try contacting so and so etc etc.....the thing was only worth about 100 bux.  Not that I don't care, I mean I would be mad if mine got stolen but I don't think I would loose too much sleep over it.  So I gave it the ol boy scout best.  It seemed like each time I thought that I was done with this dumb thing I would have to follow-up on some other portion of it.  I tried all week long to get ahold of this kid.  I tried stopping by his house all hours of the day and nobody was ever home....I was so sick of dealing with this thing over 3 or 4 days.

I finally found the guy at the high school and had a chat with him.  He said that he didn't take it despite certain facts that would lead me to beleive that he did in fact take it.  I basically told him that the victim just wanted the nintendo back and I'd be happy to facilitate the exchange since she didn't want to press charges.  I told him to think about it and that I would be back in the morning and if it had mysteriously turned up in the lost and found no harm no fowl.  Not that its an excuse for what he did or that I'm not fighting for justice and punishment but with juveniles they really dont get prosecuted unless its a felony or something very serious....the system would just be too bogged down.  I went back the next day and no nintendo and the dude didn't show up for school.  I charged him and referred it to the prosecutor...somehow I don't think I've seen the last of this case and Im not holding my breath thinking its gonna go away knowing my luck...sigh.

Collision:

Got an accident call.  Went to a local supermarket where a lady had thought she was hitting the brake but instead hit the gas then panicked and pushed it to the floor...causing her car to go past the parking space, over the curb, over the sidewalk, into a fence, breaking the fence and slamming into a dumpster........pretty easy report actually.  We are not allowed to cite on private property unless there are certain kinds of crimes present.  It was a nice way to sell the bad behavior and come off looking like a nice guy "I'm not gonna cite you today cause well accidents happen and you seem like a nice lady".  She was very very very thankful and complimented me and the department on how nice we are!  You don't get thank-u's very much so that was nice.

Burglary....another one of those last minute calls you dread right before getting off work.  I went out there and this was the third time the house had been hit....ex-roomate lesbian lover that went bad.  Unfortunately you have to take an entire new report for each occurance.  Pretty easy report but it was at the end of my shift and I was tired....I was having the neighbor who was actually the property owner (rents this other house out) fill out a statement and I left before grabbing it and my entire clipboard with all my paperwork.  Sigh.....you know there were alot of useless things that I thought they stressed at the academy.  I remember being so mad that instructors would get mad because you forgot one form, or a particular book but now I see the lessons taught in that attention to detail and being aware of where all your gear is at all times....its so easy to just forget simple things like that....luckily the guy was still there when I returned after thinking I could just go home and he had all my stuff.  Crisis averted but it really made me think of why routine is so important.  Every day I set up my car a certain way...place my ticket book here, my flashlight right there...my mapbook in the visor etc etc and take things out in a certain order and put them in the right place every time I get ready to go home....its a crucial lesson that I'm still learning and its really important.

The Liar:

Pulled a car over for not having a front license plate posted on the car.  Its required by law and I've gotten so much good stuff off stops like that.  I pulled the car over and thought it would just be routine (although I absolutely hate that phrase "routine traffic stop" because there is no such thing).  The gal said she didn't have her license on her.  Its pretty normal, you just get them to tell you their name and date of birth and address etc.  She gave it to me and I wasn't getting any record of anybody by that name.....I explained to her what was going on and she said that there must have been some mistake because she claimed to have a license etc.  I arrested her for no valid operators license without ID (criminal offense in the state) and had her in the back of my patrol car when things got interesting.....she gave me this long winded story about how she wasn't sure which date of birth she had because she had immigrated to the country and according to her they often give asian people new dates of birth due to lack of records from their home country?  Right...."whats your social security number?" I asked......"oh i dont have my card on me.  Who do you know over the age of 18 that doesn't know their social security number.....huge clue number one that someone is lying to me.  Well after a little bit of the name game I finally got a driving record that seemed to match up.  I was just gonna scratch her a ticket and give her a court date and I even "verified her identity" with a friend of hers over the phone.  I ran the name a couple more times and this "near hit" kept popping up for a small warrant in elensburg off of a different date of birth but similar to the one she was using.  I called my sarge and asked him if i could at least take her to the jail to get fingerprinted....this was after I told her that I was just gonna give her a ticket and have her walk home......so off to the jail we went.  I don't know if she thought I was bluffing or what.

So we polled up to the sally port and she goes "well hey I just want to tell you something before we go in there".  She totally coughed up the goods.........told me she was using her cousins name etc.  What a jerk.....I almost gave her a criminal citation based off her cousins information...this just totally pissed me off turns out she had a very very very suspended license...1st degree which is rare to find.  I brought her into the jail.  I had asked her if she had ever been arrested before and she said no.  The jail staff recognised her the second they saw her.......ran her real name through the computer and she had a wrap sheet as long as my arm and lots of jail photos oh and she had like 5 warrants to boot.  Thankfully the jail was full (the nice cushy lynnwood jail) so she got to go to the county jail with a "making false statements" and failing to cooperate charge on top of that.  Man that made me mad.  To think that her cousin would have been in all this trouble and I tried explaining that to this gal but man she was self serving...obviously.

The Russian Contractor fiasco:

Disturbance call...man fighting with his boss at a tile job at a house.  Possibly someone stabbed with a screw-driver.  The caller said his boss went off on him and hit him in the face and punched him in the stomach.  I was the first guy on scene and was waiting for backup and this guy came runnin up to me...he was like "i'm the one who called".  I had jumped out of my car and he was rushing toward me so I cleared leather and started barking order at him.  I didn't know who this guy was or what was going on and its so easy for a suspect to claim to be the victim etc.   Finally my back up showed up and I let the guy talk....he said that he had a fight with his boss and he thought he was gonna get stabbed cause this guy had a screw driver in his hand while he pounched him etc.  He looked fine and didn't have any injuries.....hmmm.  He said that the guy took off in a white 4 door car.  I got on the radio and started talking to my partner right as he was flying up about half a block away and I told him to check north of there and my partner hit the lights and was off like a bat out of hell.  As I'm talking to him these other two guys came up and I thought they were the "victims" buddies and they just sat there quietly while this guy told me this huge story about how he had fought with his boss over a crappy job he had done on some tile work.  After about 5 minutes one of the buddies came up and said that he was the boss in question......WHAT?  I was like what the heck is going on.

Yeah well the boss was there he didn't take off in the white car...the guy had made everything up and totally lied to us.  The boss was totally calm...long story short the "victim" had been doing some really bad work so the boss got mad and fired him on site and made up the whole story.....long story short it got cleared without having to take a report and I gave the 'victim" a ride home a couple cities away......stupid.

Pulp Fiction

A quick post before bed.  I'm really tired and I really need to get one of those netbook things so I can do this from bed everynight.  Yes I'm that lazy...2 flights of stairs is 2 too many.

Today was frustrating to say the least.  I pulled a gal over and I knew something was up because she was really nervous.  She didn't pull over right away and kept driving till she found a parking spot in an apartment complex.  This usually means that they know that their license is suspended or they have warrants and want the car parked legally so we don't have to impound it if we choose not to.  She got right out of her car like she didn't even notice me and was really really nervous.

She gave me an out of state drivers license which I ran on my computer and it came back valid.  Unfortunately after I let her go dispatch advised me that she actually had a warrant and a washington suspended license.....I went back to try and find her but she was gone.  Bummer.

Half the day was spent doing follow-ups on previous reports from last week.  Talk about boring.  A couple I had to fix.  Didn't dot enough I's or cross enough t's etc etc.  I spent alot of time following up on things that someone above me wasn't satisfied with.  For the most part the cases were go-nowhere cases anyway but I just do what I'm told....it all pays the same right?

Unfortunately I couldn't really get out there and kick some tail cause I felt like I just didn't have the time to dig for things today.  Plus I was really tired......I have some pretty bad insomnia sometimes.  Makes for a long day.

Interesting note....pulled a guy over today and asked for his license and insurance etc.  He pulled out his wallet and it was an exact replica of the wallet Samuel L Jackson had in Pulp Fiction "Its the one that says Bad A$$ Mother Fu#$%* on it".  I had a huge chuckle.  It was pretty funny.

Ok sorry for the short post but its past my bedtime.

Shield

This is My Shield,
I bear it before me in battle,
But it is not mine alone,
It protects my brother on my left,
It protects my city,
I will never let my brother out of its shadow
Nor my city out of its shelter.
I will die
with my shield before me
facing the enemy.

Friday on a Friday

The title....just kind of one of those wierd things about shift work.  You come to appreciate actually having a weekend on a weekend.  Monday on a Monday...Friday on a Friday.  I used to work at a job where you worked 6 days a week.  What is that about.  We used to actually have the phrase "oh man...its my second wedsday today" what is that all about?

So today was my Friday....Friday on a Friday.  I got a great supervisor.  He buys everyone starbucks on fridays.  Super cool guy.  He is way laid back.

So it started off slow.  I started the day by doing some follow up work.  The nintendo D.S. caper.  There was a gal that had her nintendo stolen...I think I mentioned her before but if not I'm sorry...my mind is mush today I worked like 15 hours today...yikes.  So...I had turned in the report and I originally had not had the vicim fill out a written statement.  ONe of those things where some trainers would have me do statements on small thefts and others would just not even bother with it.....I chose the path of least resistance and didn't bother with it.  I chose wrong....murphys law right!  So when you get a report rejected you get a "correctional notice" attached to it and put in your mail box.  I got it and was like ......damn it!  Nothing major it just said to get a statement from the victim and try to contact the suspect who lived in town.  The day that it happened I had tried making contact with him with "negative results" as we say.

So I went back to the victims house at 7:30 am and she was actually there and she filled out the paperwork.  I then went over to the suspects house and attempted contact with "negative results".

My numbers were a little low so for the week so I decided to do some traffic enforcement and try and get a couple tickets.  I'm not a big proponent of tickets unless someone really needs one.  I just have a hard time being a total hard-A about things.  I had no luck at all.  All my favorite fishing holes seemed to be dried up!!!!! Darn you law abiding citizens!  Nah thats actually a good thing right?  I just couldn't find hardly anything.

My supervisor told me I had a ride-a-long waiting for me.  Sweet! My first rider...it was a new employee from dispatch.  I picked him up and we hit the road.  He was a really nice guy.  I had a great time.

It was wierd having someone there with me....I kept feeling like I needed to talk like Obi-Wan...you know when you watch cops they always show the cop driving and he's says something old school like "yep this jobs hard.....you just gotta take one call at a time, just keep livin...day by day".  I actually had the opposite thing happen.  I got a pretty good feeling from him and its one of those times where you just meet him and you feel like you can just be honest and up front........so he got in and I was like "alright man...well I've been serving since breakfast so you probably know what to do more than me!" hahaha, he laughed and it broke the ice so the rest of the time went well.

I drove around for a bit and I rolled up to one of our local places thats known for some usual suspect action.  There is a secluded corner where people usually go to buy dope or enjoy other activity.  I went up there and there was this old broken down blazer that had clothes draped across all the windows.  hhhhmmmmmmm interesting.  So I went and had a little chat with the occupants.  They were just up to no good.....I'm not a salty veteren yet but even if you had no experience you could look at what that was and be like "hmmm probably up to no good" there was a guy sleeping in the shotgun seat....the rear seat was folded down and a gal was under some covers in the back......at 2pm? hmmmm odd.  Drugs or sex or both.  I didn't even bother playing the "hey whatchya doin" game cause you could just pick a lie out of the air and choose your own adventure...thats what its like.  "Oh we are just hanging out".  "Oh my car broke down so we are just waiting".  "Oh I was tired so I pulled off the road" "Oh we were just waiting for someone".  "Oh we were just talking about the economy" "discussing oprah" etc etc etc...like they are gonna tell me what the heck they are really up to.

I had a few mundane calls after that for a while...I also tried stopping a few cars.  I like stopping cars for not having a front license plate...if you look on your green sheet of paper (your car registration) it says right on there "front plate still required".  There are alot of cars that don't have a front license plate.......the guy that was riding was like "whatchya got" as I flipped on the car....I said "oh no front license plate not a big deal but you can sometimes catch some good stuff out of it".  So I went up to the driver and he had the front plate in his lap and lifted it up to me. "OH been pulled over before for that cause thats what I was stoppin you for"....."yeah"...."ok well let me have your license and you can be on your way etc.........So I run his license and he is suspended! Sweet!  You can arrest someone for that but then you have to deal with impounding the car and a hole mess of  paperwork...he was pretty cool with me so far so I just wrote him a cite and gave him a court date.....I used the "i could take you to jail thing" and tried to sell the ticket to him...most people are happy when they dont have to go to jail...apparently not this guy....he was pretty  hmmmm not happy with the situation.  Ah well.

The popular kid:

A pretty popular kid at a local high school has been calling over and over about getting some threats to his life.  He always says that "they call" and say that they are gonna shoot or kill him etc....we've been dealing with this guy for a long time and he is not giving us the full truth....we kind of think that he pissed off the wrong kid at school and is antagonizing him over and over and now he's been getting all this bully behavior directed toward him.  Unfortunately anytime you get threats like that you gotta take a report....sigh.   That was that and that but it took a long time...lots of I's to dot and T's to cross.

After that we got slammed.....report after report after report....no fun!   I hate dayshift because of that.  Its totally slow until about 3 hours before you are supposed to go home.

One guy came in who said he got ripped off.  He said that he sells stem cells.  I was like "excuse me....? you sell stem cells"?...."yeah stem cells".  Needless to say we had a very bad language barrier.....from what I could gather after trying to talk to him for like 20 minutes is that he sells vitamin supplements out of his home that stimulate stem cells when you suffer from major diseases like cancer......right......... anyway this guy "bought" 2000 dollars of "cancer be gone stem cell awesomeness".  My victim was so nice he let the guy write him a personal check for 2k and post date it for a month.

A month goes by and the customer comes back saying how rad the drugs were so he needs 1000 dollars more of the stuff and before Mr Vitamin had cashed the first check he gave him another 1000 bucks worth of stuff......another post dated check...sure your good for it..

OMG the account was closed....WHAT...it cant be...no way..insufficient funds...SHOCKING.  I did what I could for the guy but there is not much you can do....they dude is probably in mexico by now.

The xbox 360 heist call.......kid and mom go out on vacation.  X-buddy 13 year old wants xbox but doesnt have one....vacation boy has one...they are out of town...helps himself to breaking and entering for the box.......kid/mom comes home from vacation....omg xbox gone...kid: i bet so and so took it.....goes over to so and so's house....omg there it is in his window!  Call police.  My partner got there way before I did...the whole way I was trying to think through my all my criminal law classes....."what do I have...what crime...what juvenile clauses apply...etc etc".  NO kidding my partner is there for like 45 seconds and I then show up and go inside and he's already got the kid in cuffs and reading him his rights.  Thats some real veteran sh*t right there....knew exactly what he had...what kind of crime...what kind of probable cause...juvenile rights...4th ammendment rights...article 1 section 7 wa constitution clauses etc etc.  Yeah my brain doesnt work that fast yet...hahahaha.  Big pimpin...hope I can rock it like that sometime.  It was like a pro-rodeo roper takin down a calf in 2.2 seconds.  "Yeah good job man...I'll uh...go get a statement form for the victim....yeah...uh you need anything? ...uh you good man?"..."yeah i got this".

Needless to say this was about 4:30 and I'm supposed to get off at 6pm.  I ended up having to work till about 9 pm or so........it was my friday and all your paper has to get done on your friday.....weak.  My brain didn't work by then.

Anyway...gotta run.....stay tuned.  Sorry for the spelling etc...I'm sure its terrible tonight cause I can barely keep my eyes open!

More later...thanks guys

First Few Weeks

Greetings:

Welcome Rookie Diaries fans.  I hope this new site will be better for everyone.  I decided to go to this blog format so people can check in when they want to.  I think its better that way you don't have to get a stupid email and be forced to read as I babble on and on about boring work stuff if you don't feel like reading a novel every few days.

Just a couple of house keeping rules before we get started.  For confidentiality reasons I've decided to keep my name annonymous as well as my department.  You know who I work for and I'm a little paranoid that this blog might not be kosher.  I'll try to generalize my thoughts and for obvious reasons not be too detailed concerning particular cases or events that I may or may not talk about.

That being said please be courteous and not spread the site address around to people I don't know and I would ask that you contact me if someone wants to check out the blog.  This is especially true for all the Snocom'ers out there as you all work pretty close with my department etc.   I'm not trying to be a jerk just discrete thats all.

Also I'll reiterate for all you grammar peeps out there I apologize.  I'll try to spell check when I can but really I just try and type fast and sometimes spelling etc goes out the wayside!

I tried copy and paste to post a few of the old entries so people can get caught up but the website didn't seem to enjoy that too much.  Anyway, I figure I'll just start by where I left off.  I appologize for not getting this thing going earlier.  I kept saying to myself I'll do it this weekend or that weekend and already a few weeks have passed before I even knew it.  For that ...my bad.
Anyway the past few weeks have been pretty good.  I hate not writing right away because I often forget about "the cool stories" but I'll try and remember a few to get started.

So I had my first week on my own.  It was great being out there on my own.  As you probably remember it was wierd sitting in that car myself for the first day or so but I'm starting to get the hang of it little by little.

My first week was on the night shift and I have to admit I like nights better than days.  I'm on dayshift for another few weeks.  They plugged me in for about a month before going back to nights.  Nights are a little more fun.  A few more interesting things seem to occur and more interesting people seem to be out during vampire hours.  But for now, I'm stuck on dayshift and that's okay with me.

My sleep schedule is totally screwed up.  Its one of the joys of shift work.  Going back and forth just eats you alive.  Its been my first week on dayshift which runs from 0600 to 1800 hours and right now its 1am and I'm up.  Yesterday I woke up at 2am bright eyed and bushy tailed and just stayed up cause I couldn't get back to sleep.  I thought I would sleep for like 10 hours after I got home.  I fell asleep around 7:30pm and just woke up around midnight.....sucks big time but I feel pretty good.  Its my friday today (later today anyway in the morning) and hopefully I'll have a chance to catch up on some sleep on the weekend!  For now though....It sucks.

On my friday (still working graves then a week ago or so) I was sitting at an intersection winding down a bit.  I was excited because I had all my tickets and paperwork caught up and I was just kind of riding out the last few hours of the shift.  All of a sudden I see this car coming down the hill.  It was this older Subaru station wagon.  One of the headlights was broke and hanging down by the bumper and the windshield was caved in and totally broke (spider-webbed across the entire surface).  It was bad and it definitely caught my eye...something was up.  I pulled the car over and the driver was completely drunk.

I could smell a ton of alcohol on his breath.  I must admit I wasn't super nice...instead of my usual "good evening sir" I think I greeted him with a "what the fu** happened here".  He said that he had hit some kind of highway roadblock barrier sign and was just trying to get home...I asked if the road was blocked why he went through it and he couldn't give me a very good explanation...it was a little funny.  Also something of note he had all these elaborate chains and handcuffs connected to the "oh crap handles" above his doors inside the car.  They strung up all over the place.  I asked his buddies about them and they just smilled and was like "yeah he gets laid alot".  Creap factor 10! Hello!  Luckily there was chained up sex slaves in the back so that was good.

I ran him through the standard sobriety tests etc and he blew into my PBT (portable Breath Test) and he was over the limit but not by much.  I hooked him up for DUI and brought him to the Lynnwood jail.  Unfortunately in this state you have to go through alot of BS for DUI's.  The portable tester out in the field is not considered good enough for prosecution so you have to bring them to the jail for the "official test".   It was nice being on my own because I really felt like I could talk to this guy how I wanted to talk to him and not how a trainer or someone else would want me to talk to him etc so I got to spread my wings a bit.  I'm pretty cool with people...I dont get into giving them a lecture like they are 5 years old like some other people do and generally if you treat people with respect you get it back in return and that was the case with this kid....he was a young guy that just made a poor choice....in fact he was pretty cooperative and cool with me so after we got done with the test I scratched out a ticket and gave him a lift home (didnt have to book him into jail for cost reasons).  He was so happy about it he thanked me afterword....anytime you can arrest someone and get a thank you out of it, its pretty cool.

I switched to dayshift this week and its been pretty slow which is nice.  Less stuff to screw up on!  I've been just working on my traffic stops and trying to dig things up as best I can.  Last night I was getting ready to go home when I got 2 accidents one after the other.  What a pain in the rear...it was mostly do to the slick roads with all this rain and people being dumb.  I was standing out in the rain for a couple hours directing traffic.  I can't beleive how dumb people are.....I had my car blocking an entire turn lane with my lights on and my yellow arrow in the back flashing to people "cant use this lane jerks".  I don't know how much clearer of a sign that could be that people should try and find somewhere else to turn.  I had probably 4 people try and turn down the road (that I was blocking along with 2 others cars and a large red fire truck)...they all had that look on their faces "I need to turn there can i turn"?  NO!   What a bunch of tards seriously.  It just amazes me sometimes how self serving people "need" to be.

Yesterday nothing much happened.  Near the end of the day I was driving along and almost got T-boned by this lady....she didn't stop behind the stop sign and white stop mark on the street and another half a car length and she would have smashed me to bits.......so I turned around on her and pulled her over.  She got right out of the car talking on her cell phone and started walking toward a house.  She made it about one foot before i blocked her and ordered her back in her car.......she got a puzzled look on her face and said "I'm going up to this house right here" I told her "no your not you're gonna get back in your car right now".  I told her why I had pulled her over.....she was not having it...she called me a liar and completely denied any wrong doing and flat out denied any fault at all.  She went up and down about how she knew the x-mayor and this person and that person etc etc.  I asked her for her license and she said she didn't have one cause it was expired...I ran her name and her license was fine, it wasnt expired.  I was so sick of dealing with her that I gave her a warning.....now most people would be happy with that and just shut their yapper and go on with it....but NO she started running her mouth again etc etc...I said mam your ahead right now and I suggest you keep it that way......she finally shut up after a few minutes and I was done with her and I took off but I couldn't beleive that...some people I tell ya!

Well anyway...I feel like I'm forgetting a bunch of other cool stories but thats it for now, I'm gonna try and get a few more hours of shut eye before 4am rolls around.  Now that I have this started I should be posting more frequently so stay tuned.....for more of the Rookie Diaries!
