taser awesome

Reversal

Couple of small calls last night but nothing major. Went to an unwanted subject call and my partner gets there first and sees the suspect car driving off so he pulls them over. 4 guys in the car..all hoodlums...I dont like to stereotype but they were all hood like.

So after talking to them for 20 minutes and getting a bunch of bull shit stories and answers from them I talk to the other party...another hoodlum kid and turns out his buddy needed 20 bucks but he is notorious for not repaying his debt so loaner wanted his watch as collateral. Well sure enough hoodlum 1 didn't repay the 20 bucks but instead decides its rational to come over and forcefully try and get his watch back and the guy wouldnt let him. I told him to man up and pay his debt. Normally I'd take a report but whats the point...stupid call over stupid kids stuff...your tax dollars at work.

The Kirby Salesman Caper: Go to a house. The guy is freaked out because this ratty van pulled up 2 guys go out. ONe kind of goes to the side of his house and is poking around and the other guy knocks on the door and tries the door handle....so he claims. He yells hey! And both the guys jet back to there van and take off. I think its a legitimate casing (where someone goes to your door trying to sell something like magazine subscriptions and you invite them in but really they are just seing what valuables you have for a later with drawl while you are at work). So I take a report.....about an hour later I see the van with the same license plate...sweet. Pull em over...sure enough the story checks out. They were just salesman and cleaners....showed me there business license and everything. Nice to get out of doing the report. I think the victim was just paranoid.

Trespass call.....go to one of the casinos in town. Call reads that a gal wants to trespass her self from the place. Now usually a trespass is for a kid that steals a candy bar and the store owner wants them to not be allowed on the property for a year...makes it nice cause if they show up there again you can take them to jail. I've never had a call before where someone wants to trespass themself. Very weird...so I show up and its this old lady. She apparently has a very bad gambling problem and her husband was there to pay the bill....I imagine it was a pretty big tab cause he seemed less than pleased. She apparently wanted to be trespassed so we could be social workers and help her with her addiction...yeah we don't do that.....kind of sad though.

Stabbing: Domestic disturbance....while we are going there it gets upgraded to a stabbing call. Heart begins to beat a little faster and the adrenalin starts pumping. I get there and there are people everywhere. One of those houses where all kinds of extended family lives under one roof. There is a female screaming "oh god we need an ambulance...help!" I run up there and there is a guy laying on the ground and he has 4 or 5 blood soaked towells on his back and i can't see his face cause its so bloody....he was not doing good. The suspect had taken off...luckily we had a dog on and we caught him on foot a few blocks away.

After our investigation we determined that the guy that got stabbed was actually the instigator in the whole thing and the guy that did the stabbing was just defending his sister. Jackass had threatened her life and wrecked up the place pretty bad because he was totally drunk. ONe of those suspect is the victim and victim is the suspect sort of deals......interesting. Basically we charged both parties and we will let the prosecutor sort out everything. The hardest part of the report was figuring out how to list all the family members on the report....were they witnesses and how is everyone related to everybody. Grandma....mom....suspect1 suspect 2 daughter, grand daughter, fiance etc etc....really confusing family dynamic. Took a while to sort everything out.

Plodding on.

A quiet one

Really not a whole lot happened last night. I just came off of 5 days off and it was nice to have a little break. I enjoyed it very much so.

Last night was pretty calm. I really didn't have to much going on. I had a couple traffic stops and a DV. I got a decent code run down into a neighboring city. They had a strange incident where someone called in a burglary in progress and that they could actually see burglars actively breaking into a buisness.....but they showed up and it was all false....they kind of thought that maybe a bad guy was trying to time the police in there response times or create a diversion across town while they hit some other place. Kinda interesting.

That was about it......sorry guys.

One big wreck!

So the suicidal guy from the other night....well it turned out to be a little more complicated than I originally thought.....they are doing an internal investigation cause the guy ended up dying...everything will be fine...its just a cover everyone's ass kinda thing...its sad how you can do everything right but with the law suit society that we live in now we have to be retarded.

Other than that...it was really slow. I have a short week this week...only had to work 1 day this week. Thats pretty nice. Had a huge collision right at the beginning of shift......someone went into oncomming traffic for about 4 blocks and got his car up to about 70 mph down a 35mph road and disintegrated a bus stop prior to hitting a phone pole dead on......sigh...found a bunch of heroin in the car. Might explain some things. That tied up about half the shift it seemed like. That was about it...the rest of the time was pretty boring.

A Truck and a Chain

The night started good....I got to the station early and washed my patrol car. We have car wash slips but the car wash place is a bit out of the city and aquiring said car wash slips is like searching for treasure. Ah well, washin it by hand is ok just a little time consuming. I cleaned out the inside of the car as well.....kinda like a cab on the inside, very well used indeed. It was kinda funny a few weeks ago I had brought the car over to a friends house for a quick 5 minute hello to show off the police car for their todler.....he seemed interested in the car but a little scared of it, the flashing lights didn't seam to impress him much. I had the car door open so he could look at all the neat buttons and switches...the first thing he said was "hey your car is dirty" hahaha...I guess when a todler notices the grime built up on the floorboards then its probably time to try and clean it out.

Domestic No Assault: Lady calls cause her husband is "out of control". I got on scene and contacted the involved parties outside their apartment cause they were standing there when I showed up. Checked the apartment out.....nothing seemed broke or out of the ordinary. No threats were made and no was injured...turned out to just be an an argument and nothing physical.

Couple of traffic stops: Made alot of stops on people and cars today...I was digging pretty hard. One lady was driving like an idiot.....I stopped her and her license was suspended. I was stoked cause I've been striking out on finding those recently. Its a good bean for the bean counters.

Couple of phone call follow-ups.

Got news that our guy who stabbed himself the previous evening didn't makeit, sadly despite all the doctors trauma expertise they pronounced him dead. I feel bad for his roomates and buddies that had showed up to give their support to him.

Got to assist a neighboring city with a dog pursuit. A suspect had thrown an infant out of a moving car. The dog caught him and then he tried to play "lawyer" claiming he was going to sue all of us dumb coppers.

Truck and Chain:

So right under our noses someone backed a truck up into a convenient store and chained up the atm and drove it right into the front door...wolvey bezerk style. Thank God that I didn'nt have to report, luckily dayshift was already there. Super awesome!

well guys I'm fallin asleep so I think I'm gonna rack out...I'm pooped! Stay tuned.

Please Return Your Table Tray to it full upright locked position!

The Liar: Went to a casino...report of a male who had been prowling into cars in the parking lot. First off...why does anyone ever try anything in a casino. They have more cameras there than anywhere. He's outside when we showed up after being chased by security. He proceeds to lie to me for the next 10 minutes. He kept playing the parakeet game as I like to call it. "Do you got Id on you"? "Uh oh do I have ID on me...no?" "Whats your name" "oh whats my name?" He replies. Its like no dipshit I wanna know your dogs name cause you're such an interesting guy.

Anyway we learned that in the academy......when someone is lying they will play that parakeet game...its a method of stalling while your brain can think of a lie. So then he started playing the name game with me. He gave me several different names and dates of birth. I asked what his social security number was and he gave me one.......I asked him to repeat it again (to see if he was lying...no one could remember a false number twice) He did pretty good this time but he added a couple of digits. Dispatch kept getting no record found.....finally we just arrested him for obstruction. We searched his pockets and found a car key and key fob. We started hittin that thing and a new escalade beeped right next to us. I ran the plate and came back to a female registered owner. We look inside the car and there is a male's wallet sitting on the ground.....oh how convenient....open it up and the guy has his ID. He had warrants....he got to go to the grey bar motel.

The fast drive: Big party in a neighboring city. Some drunkards started fighting with local officers there. One of them called a code 2. We got to drive fast......very fast. Probably the funnest code runs I've ever had cause it was just one straight stretch. I will refrain from commenting on how fast we were actually goin but I remember hitting the brakes one time because there was a bump coming up in the road and I remember thinking that I really didn't want to get this car airborn at all....not joking.

PLEASE READ ON IF YOU DRONED OUT CAUSE THIS IS THE BEST PART:

As the title suggest to this post....holy mother of god! We were all chillin having breakfast at our usual spot when they closed the air for us (restricted the channel for emergency traffic only). Suicidal subject with a knife........we go flying out there. Get to the door and this guys roomate was trying to get the door open for us but the dude had layed down in front of the door. We get the door halfway open and he is lying there trying to kick the door shut. We can't see his hands and he is stabbing himself in the abdomen..thrust thrust thrust...and growling at us. Verbal commands...verbal commands....nothing. Finally my partner tazered him and that seemed to help...the guy pulls the knife out. HOLY SHIT....it wasn't a knife it was an 8 inch dual pronged serving fork for your bbq. Guy starts fighting with us the whole time and kicking at me. We finally subdued him and got him in cuffs. The aid crew came in....the guy didn't look good...eyes rolling back into his head......we got him on a gurney and had to strap him down cause he started fighting again. Then he died.....they had to shock him right there on the table and everythin...doing cpr and the full 9 yards. They revived him and ran him down south to harborview. I don't know if he made it or not but that was a fun call. I was so happy I had just bought this industrial strength aerosol spray disinfectant for my cuffs.

cant wait to go back to work tonight.

Two reports...two tickets...plodding on

The Surrender:

A major case was solved today. There was rather large incident on my days off....lots of blood etc. I can't discuss a whole lot of details for confidential reasons but it was pretty major for our little sleepy city. Anyway a few people were in custody and one person was still outstanding (wanted). Well that person turned themselves in today. Pretty cool actually. I got to be the one to put him in cuffs and take him to jail....he is probably going to be in the clink for 10 plus years.....crazy.

wrote a couple of tickets...tried to get more and be proactive but seems I've been in a slight slump lately. Seems like my first few weeks I was getting alot of arrests and I haven't had any lately. Its been bummin me out a bit I must admit. Better luck tonight I hope.

Assault: Car parked in street, neighbor hears a female screaming. Show up and the car is goa (gone on arrival). Witness said the driver of the car was assaulting a female passenger....got some witness statements and wrote up the report. I'm really enjoying typing reports in the car cause you can utilize the copy and paste function with ease and I find with a thumbdrive it just works out well.

Broken window: Rock through a school window..damage found by night security. Simple half page report and a face sheet (face sheet to the report that has a lot of boxes to check etc.

Man on a porch: Drunk 48 year old son of a very old man. Subject was very intoxicated...about a 5th of hard alcohol....plus he had already suffered from a stroke so his speach was hard to understand. Alot of alcohol plus stroke equals bad news bears......we were lucky enough to get him to agreee to just sleep it off.

thats about it guys...kind of a snoozer.

The endless paper

Well the title pretty much sums it up. Due to the burglar bastards of the previous night....I spent half the night catching up on previous reports..and as usual you keep getting interupted by silly calls.

Down the hatch: Call of a female stuck under a fence...assist the fire department. Get to the scene and there is no girl stuck in a fence. The girl was on the ground and her face looked like she got hit by a truck. Blood everywhere. Anyway here's the story...so she decided to take a shortcut home.....which turns out she was going the wrong way anyway so the shortcut didn't help at all. 20 foot vertical rock embankment down to the fenced parking lot with jaged rock (like boulder size) edges....why not. In her stupor decides to try and climb down and falls......her head hit just about every rock on the way down....her momentum continued causing her to slide under the fence and get stuck. Didn't have to take a report.....yay.

Assist another agency: Neighboring city that only has one officer on at a time got a fight call, dispute over a taxi fare from way south. Get there and the customer is sitting outside the cab. His face didn't look much better than rock climbing girls. He went out for his birthday and well had some kind of dissagreement with his buddy. Buddy bashed his face in....happy birthday. Takes cab 25 miles home to a new address that isnt in the cabbie's gps yet. Customer thinks the driver is taking him "the long way" for extra fare and he decides to try and choke the driver....no report woo hoo.

DUI...helped process another guys dui for him. He was stoned riding a motorcycle....just after he had smoked 2 or 3 oxycontin pills out of a bic pen converted into a pipe. Guy said he understood we just had to do our jobs but didn't undertand that you could get a dui for being stoned and not drunk....despite that he still told us about his dreams and aspirations of becoming a cop and how he plans on attending the police academy.

Fire alarm.....big complex lots of people calling in everyone evacuating...usually signs of a good fire......false alarm.

That was about it...pretty boring night actually. Plodding on

Burglar Bastards

Ok.....ton of stuff happened over the last few days. I can't remember it all. I dealt with this older lady...she was in her 60's and had dimentia and wondered into her city...it took some creative thinking but we were able to solve the problem.

DUI....so I'm sitting down at my usual honey hole to pick off speeders and watch traffic...its my secret ninja hiding spot. A huge suburban went down the road by me and the street that I was on had 2 westbound lanes and a turn lane. The car was driving right down the middle of both lanes strattleing the dividing marker. Then he made several lane sweeps. I pulled him over and after I lit him up he just stopped the car in the middle of the road....didn't even try pulling over. He was drunk as a skunk. I hate doing dui's just hate them.

Burglary....there is a local stop and rob place that for some reason always gets burglarized....thsere is nothing special about the store...just your average smokes and beer place. Some neighboring apartments called cause they heard someone banging on the door of this place. First off let me say that i totally came to the party late because of that stupid dui I got. Anyway...basically we interupted the burglars and they scattered running all kinds of directions...we did about an hour long dog track and caught all 4 little punk kid bastards! The best part is....they didnt even make it inside the building. The interesting thing to note is how much there is to do to process a call like that where you get arrests. This is especially true when you have juveniles and complicated evidence such as an entire car....you really have to think like a lawyer and its like a chess game...trying to think of loopholes that a defense attorney would love to have. Like the gettaway car for example....now their car was parked about a half block away from the crime scene....it was left unlocked with the keys inside...you would think this wouldnt be good evidence....but it links proximity of defendants to the crime scene....also there was 4 kids ...how do you proove they were all together etc...well we found all of their cell phones in the car.....so by seizing the car and then litterally taping it shut and sealing it....then we can get a search warrant and link the car to all 4 kids instead of just the driver. Yeah I had to stay about 2 hours late in the morning and I'm dead tired but it was fun to catch those bastards.
