Couple of interesting past 2 nights. I stayed pretty busy with calls pretty steady all night. Day before yesterday I was doing a foot patrol of a park. My partner and I stumbled across some kids in the park drinking beer....there was about 10 of them. It was one of those things where we were just gonna pour out their beer and scurry them along. We were ID'ing everyone and we got about halfway done and all of a sudden one of the boys let out an excited little yelp and started runnin...I kind of sat there dazed for a moment then I thought to myself....ah hell no! The chase was on....I ran past the school and lost him around a corner out in this side street area. I sat there quietly trying to catch my breath when I heard a loud crack of wood....totally sounded like someone climbing over a wood fence.....well lo and behold a wood fence appeared in front of me....I peaked over and found him hiding in this guys yard......I told him to come out with his hands up or I was sending in my dog (total bluff as I do not have a dog).....he finally gave up.....I was happy to have caught him. So he kind of dug his own grave......he got a Minor in Possession charge and of course an obstruction charge all because he decided to run...what an idiot.
Went to a couple fight calls. One was a party that had just got out of hand.......the kids scurried away like mice when we got there....two ran into some thick thorn bushes...whoops...they got all cut up...go back to the party house and shocking its like no one was home...no one would come to the door and all the lights were turned out....on the back deck total destruction...apparently the fight spilled out onto the second story balcony and the two guys that were fighting apparenly broke the railing like an old western and went tubling down...also a smashed out window.......no "victims...no suspects" etc which means a pretty simple report.
Some traffic stops...got a suspended driver off of a license plate light being burnt out......some speeders etc.
Last night was real busy...call to call to call. Started out with a death investigation. Young gal came home to find that her mom had passed away....kind of sad really. Nothing really suspicious but a lot of prescription drugs were found....the medical examiner came out and I had to move a dead body around....kinda gross but it was relatively fresh...dead weight is really heavy....man those M.E.s have a wierd job....he went to work photographin and movin limbs around etc. Again not my favorite part of the job...hysterical family members etc. Grandpa showed up and just about had a heart attack...we had to call an aid car for him.
Missing dog found....found a stray by someone that called it in. Cute lil thing...I usually dont like Kick Dogs...you know the small scrappy kind but this little fellow was a cutie. Normally I cant do much if they dont have a tag but being a dog owner I really hate it when my dogs have gotten out before......so I placed him in custody and I had my little prisoner on board. He was a fluff ball of white thick fur that looked like a mop. We went for a little ride to the vet clinic...they scanned his butt and came up with an address....I went there with no luck...went back to the clinic and left him there...felt bad but I had no other options I think they were a bit pissed I just dropped him off there but it was there or the street. Sigh......
Wierd guy at the casino...security called said this guy was suspicious as he kept going in and out of the joint carrying a backpack...back and forth to his car etc....showed up there but he was gone but his car was still there...I looked in the window and he had drug paraphernalia everywhere...tin foil for one....they use it to put their dope on it and burn the bottom of it creating a sort of burnt snail mark...also a classic cocaine holder handing from the rear view mirror.......security called later to say that he had returned....we had a chat with him...shocking he has parole history for narcotics trafficing. Is there anything in your backpack thats illegal....no...mind if we check....yeah....hmmm. Didnt have enough to search his bag...gotta love this state when it comes to criminal rights. He had a suspended license but he denied driving there....yeah right. We sat on the car for about an hour waiting for him to drive so we could stop him and then we would get to search the car....to no avail...sigh.
Thats about it...all the other stuff was pretty routine and mundane......back to work tonight..rinse repeat.
